Letters to Our Daughters: November
My little Sofie Sunshine,
The world has become red and gold. We had to stop the car to admire a golden tree on the way to school. We were a few minutes late, but it was worth it. You love the Fall. You adore Halloween. You said the other day you wished Halloween could be everyday. When we walked hand in hand down the darkened street, with ghouls, goblins, and fairies around each corner, candy at each house, and sparkly orange lights decorating the trees you could only say WOW in that big little voice of yours. Wow Mommy, this is amazing! And it is. The world is changing before you. You never knew trees could change from green to gold before. And cold is coming, a cold you’ve never known, my island girl. But you are happy because it means cute hats and coats to twirl and prance in. To you, the coming cold means cozy sweaters and warm hugs from mom. I hope I’ll always be here to cuddle the cold away.
Seasons change. It’s an essential part of life. Remember this as you grow, my angel. And I hope you will continue to embrace the change with wonder in your heart. Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall, and all those little transitions in between.
Love forever and ever with cuddles on top,
I’m so happy to be once again participating in a Letters to Our Daughters blog circle made up of a group of fabulous women photographers. When you are done with my letter, please continue on in the circle to the talented Kellie Bieser of Shutter & Glass Photography.
