It’s The Little Things: New
So many new things to celebrate. A new home. New locations to get to know. New routines for myself and my littles. And now, a new blog circle. I’m joining with some of my favorite people and photographers to explore The Little Things. And isn’t it the little things that create the joy in our life? Those small rituals in our day, those tiny details that we can stop and appreciate. This month’s theme is new, which couldn’t be more perfect. I adore watching my children’s curiosity and delight as they get to know their new California surroundings. We go for a daily walk through the hills behind our house as the light wanes. For them, every view is one to savor. Every hill one to climb. And every field one to go deeper in to see what is around the next bend.
And for this particular walk, I wanted to capture another small new thing: my daughter’s pig tails. She so rarely lets me put up her hair. But before our walk, she asked me to give her pig tails like her friend wears. It took us just a minute, but I reveled in that moment, just she and I at her dressing table, the brush running through her hair as I parted and twisted her fine curls. She couldn’t stop touching and playing with them on our walk. And by the end, they were pulled out, but we both enjoyed the girlish style while it lasted.
When you are done here, continue on in our circle to the fabulously talented photographer, April Nienhuis.
