Shadows and light
Everyday my children teach me about the interplay of light and shadow. They veer so quickly between joy and despair, experiencing both in full measure, leaning in to the moment, whether it’s the beauty of twirling in the late afternoon sun or the brief pain of a fall. We wouldn’t appreciate light so much, without shadows. Dark defines and adds substance to light.
The beauty, I am finding, lies in the balance of both – in life as well as pictures.
